Gore, Keep doing what u believe is best

One particular industry that I've started analyzing more over the past few months concerns renewable energy solutions.  I've learned about some cool techniques during past little bit....how energy can be recreated from waste, how energy from be produced in Africa and delivered to a customer in Sweden, .etc.  Some really cool stuff!

When it comes to green initiatives, probably Al Gore is the most well-known figure.  His movie on global warming definitely sparked some conversation within my group of friends.  As someone trying to push something at such a large scale, he's also receiving criticism.  People are accusing him of trying to profit from investment put into the Green Economy.  Some critics say that the idea of Global Warming is false and is just a political stunt to get people to pour money into an industry.  Check out the movie "The Global Warming Swindle" if you want to hear people who deny that global warming exists.

I wanted to share this video about how Gore defends himself.  His satire use of rebuttals and direct answers are most admirable.  Never does he give the impression that he's in the Hot Seat, and that is impressive to me.

Nice job Al!

mom, people are calling me a baby chick

Obama's infamous words, "time to change", have echoed through the minds of many Americans. Hopefully some people will make changes in a positive direction. Well, though this particular change might not be a noble type and may not be for the best, I have decided that I will change the hair dew and let it grow!! That's right...I'm going to grow my hair up until it hits the ceiling baby!! Actually that's a bit exaggerated, but I am letting the hair grow some.

After letting it grow for a couple weeks, my friends are already teasing me....great friends huh!! They look forward to seeing what happens, but at the same time, they pet my head and call me a baby chick! I don't know whether to chirp like a little chicken or bark like a dog and bit their hands. I guess that will depend on who's petting.

My hair is at the stage where it's long and sticking straight up....haha it's kinda funny looking. I think I still need a couple weeks before it gets long enough where it will start to naturally fall down, and so until them, I'm in what my home-slice Zeki calls "in the critical stage". Haha....he went from a crew cut to the gel look and so he has experience.

All this attention on growing reminded me of the Chia Pet commercials. And so I had to find some to give some giggles. If I'm going to be called a chick, I better find stuff to make me laugh :-)

French strike that makes me giggle

Haha...I didn't get around to posting this before, but I wanted to share it.  With the new changes to Facebook's layout, many grew furious.  People were screaming over the internet about why facebook is becoming a twitter or why the continual changes.

If it works right, why change it??  Well apparently a small group of Frenchies wanted to take their anger to the streets and protest against the new facebook.  haha....makes me smile

lol....it reminds me of my days in Paris when I had to take random detours around the city just to avoid getting stuck in a protest.

Rock on celebrity Trish

Every so often I receive news about something that not only tickles my stomach, but makes me smile real big. Well here is one of those kinds of stories.

I used to date a beautiful girl named Trish back in Atlanta. Things didn't work out between us, but we managed to keep in touch. I think we kept in touch because we shared something in common: 2 people trying to understand what lies beyond our backyard of the USA in hope to one day make a global impact. Yea yea, it might sound cliché or even lame, but college if properly used teaches you to dream big and reach for the stars.

Well, Trish ended up going to Taiwan after her studies and currently resides there....with a stable job!! But on top of that, she's even achieved celebrity status. She's kicking it with actors and actresses at bars, both from Taiwan and around the world. Pretty impressive, and I really get a kick out of hearing some of the stories.

Apparently she is modeling, writing music with a well-known music producer and she's even singing on national television. Umm....wow!

So of course after hearing about her celebrity-ness, I wanted to check it out. After forever harrassing, I was finally given a youtube link to an episode where she was singing on TV.

Video timeline
4:04 - Trish interview
5:26 - Trish singing

I didn't quite understand the premises of the show, but I've been told that it's a competition sort of like American Idol or La Nouvelle Star. This wasn't the final show, but she ended up winning this one. Pretty cool as she never had singing lessons.

Trish, if you read this, I want to say that I'm very impressed and very proud. You are getting closer and closer to making your dreams come true! Keep on rocking, and stop hitting (literally) on the TV hosts. And as for me pals, I'm brushing my shoulders saying, "yep, I know a celebrity :-)"

Fun with garageband

I like messing around with creative software because it tickles the brain. *nerd

Anyway I ended up playing with garageband '09 last night just to check out. It's pretty fun, and I think I was able to create something somewhat decent. So have a look and let me know what u think :-)
